The King of Fighters XIII is a fighting game, King of Fighters developed by SNK Playmore and published in 2010. on July 14th, 2010 King of Fighters XIII released for Japanese arcades, while ports for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 is during late 2011 in Japan and the UK regions, with Atlus and Rising Star Games in charge of releasing them in the U.S. and Europe

It follows another King of Fighters tournament secretly hosted by Those From Distance Land, the organization behind the events of the previous two games that are trying to break the seal from the demon Orochi and take its power. It also expands the list of characters, re-playable characters grouped in teams of three members as in previous installments. and the last new feature confirmed for the game is the Drive Cancel, which opens the possibility of a new combo. The game also marks the return of the multi-bar power gauge that was introduced in The King of Fighters '97.

Mode is presented in a visual novel style with fights, something that is considered to be difficult to put in the arcade version by SNK Playmore staff.
